AusAID Deputy Program Director for AIPD Rural

Background of the Position

Australia supports the Indonesian Government to reduce poverty through increased economic growth in rural areas, in particular through supporting the development of competitive agricultural economic and market structures. This is achieved through a market-lead approach to agricultural systems development, which also touches issues of sector policy, trade regulations, financial services, and effective private and public extension services.

The Australia Indonesia Partnership for Decentralisation – Rural Economic Development (AIPD-Rural) works with market actors, rural communities and local governments to achieve increased incomes and better food security for Indonesian farmers. AIPD-Rural will be delivered as an additional component of the Australia Indonesia Partnership for Decentralisation (AIPD) which supports Indonesia’s decentralisation reform agenda and contributes to improved delivery of essential health, education and infrastructure services by provincial and local governments.
